Saga of the Chair

I broke my chair at work.  Yes I find this a bit embarrassing.  I suppose I would be more embarrassed if I couldn't at least blame it on being pregnant and that it is just a piece that kept coming loose from the base not really a break of the seat or something.  Well this fun little event has taken on a life of it's own now.

Basically after trying to fix the chair it breaking again I have simply ordered a new chair.  Well it arrived overnight (shock) and came today.  Another gal and I started the minor assembly it required and of course put it together wrong to begin with then redid it, so it took us probably close to an hour screwing and unscrewing and laughing about how ridiculous it all was.

Finally we had it assembled and now the raucous begins.  One of the guys had switched my broken chair out for his while I waited for a new chair.  He took a look at the new chair and kind of liked it, sat in and thought it was pretty nice.  Another guy in our office told me a couple of days ago when mine broke that he didn't like his chair if I wanted it.  He thinks it is uncomfortable but was told he couldn't use this other chair we have in the office because it is smalled and fits at the desk it is at better (tight space).  Then another gal who is a very petite woman said she doesn't like the chairs we had either because it is too big for her to sit all of the way back in and have her feet reach the floor comfortably.  Now I feel really guilty that I have this new chair.  I like it better than the chair I had too, but the other one wasn't so bad I am unwilling to trade someone, but who?  I don't want to choose and I vaguely said I didn't have to be the one to have the new one but no one is really going to take the chair either.

To make it all more laughable our director found out about this broken chair and said - oh no problem, they have lifetime warranties so he'll call the company and have it replaced.  We tell him we already ordered a replacement but he just said - oh no cancel that order they will replace it, hmmm no one really mentioned how it was actually already assembled and being fought over.  Oh well we decided we are hiring someone new soon and would have needed to order an additional chair for that person, they can have the replacement chair (the style apparently no one likes).

Baby is doing good in there.  He has been much more active lately and rather enjoys kicking my ribs and side.  I have another appointment Monday and then start weekly appointments where I will be checked each week for dilation.  I still have two weeks before baby will really be ready to arrive (August 2nd I am good to go) but it is very soon we could be seeing this little one for the first time.

Also today Kris and I settled on someone for daycare and put a deposit in with the gal.  Kris bosses' wife had her name as a referral and we met with her and saw her home last week.  She seems to be really friendly and has been watching little ones for 20 years so I think she will love our baby and do great.  It is just someone out of her home, not a center so it may not be as organized and structured as a facility would be, but I think it will work out well for us. It is nice to feel like that issue is off of my plate now and we have something set up.

That's the news from today, just baking this bun, I'll keep everyone posted.
