O Positive

I had another appointment today.  It was not as exciting as my previous appointment because I didn't have any ultrasounds and get to see the baby, but still I heard the heartbeat again, it was 152 and apparently the baby was moving all over because while the nurse was trying to hear the heartbeat the baby kept moving and making the sound device thing make loud scratching sounds.  I still haven't felt the baby, at least not that I really knew I had, but I guess I could fell that any time and then will feel it more and more.  I think that will be a pretty strange and great experience.  They also began measuring my belly today.  I am still somewhat in regular pants so my belly isn't anything to really see, but I had gained a few pounds.  I feel like I have gained more than the scale showed and then what I look like; I can see it.  We went over the first round of the tests and everything was low risk and normal or "perfect."  I found out I am O positive blood type too.  I am sure I had known that, or at least my parents had for me, but I really couldn't have said what I was, so I guess it is good to note that down in my records.

Now we have our next appointment scheduled.  The appointment itself is on the 6th and will be checking in again and going over results from the second round of blood tests that I had today.  Friday the 8th is the big exciting day.  Ultrasound.  This should be my last ultrasound which is somewhat sad because we won't get to see the baby again until it is born, but since I should be feeling it I guess I won't really need to see it like I have this first part.  I still say we are finding out the sex.  I just think I need that control right now and will feel more ready - we can really pick a name too.  Kris sort of wants to be surprised, which I get would be fun and everyone I happen to mention this to (the ultrasound tech, the lab tech...) says it was the best surprise, but for our first - I need the control.  We will have more children or another child at least and we can be surprised then.  There is enough to be surprised about when having a baby.

My aunt Julie and Uncle Bud are coming to visit this weekend.  It will be nice to have them here and show them where we live.  I am sure we will get more visits when our little one is here to enjoy.  I am glad my family is close enough to visit here and there in Washington, it is a long drive, but doable.  So I don't have anything really planned and I expect is will be another rainy weekend, but we will find something to entertain us.

Still making myself notes and keeping a couple of calendars and having to organize things because I feel like time is passing fast and I need to be sure to keep it all straight.  I have had some "baby brain" for sure and I just know I have to write it down or I forget what I am doing 10 minutes after I thought of it in the first place.
hmm what was I saying...
