With this weekend being Daylight Savings of course I feel like I lost an hour of sleep, precious sleep. I guess I should get used to it as I will be losing much more sleep in only a few more months.
My Aunt and Uncle came to visit us this weekend, we drove out to Newport and shopped a little and stopped at a couple of nice view points. Of course had to show them the Devil's Punch Bowl. It was cold and pretty windy but fortunately the rain let up for the time we would have been in it. Sunday we had the excellent brunch at Eola Hills Winery - go if you have never been - I had my favorite the Veggie Eggs Benedict, something about the spinach sauce with the Parmesan and hollandaise, it was good. Then we stopped at the maternity store and I was able to get another paid of pants and bra's. Let me just say that the gal in that Salem store is very nice and is helpful, but very excited about her job and way into you and everything about you. I think she had me try on like 40 bra's. Oh well, I can finally breath again - she tells me it is my rib cage winging open not just my sides getting fat - good news.
When we got home we went into the backyard to look at the plants that are popping up and how things are doing. Even though it was raining we just wanted to walk along the back beds and see how it looked. I started pulling up a few weeds and trying to clean things up a bit and the wind started picking up and the rain started getting heavier. Kris said come on we better go back in and as we headed for the house suddenly we thought we better run and ducted back into the garage just as it really opened up and poured. The winds were gusting through we weren't sure the neighbors trees would stay standing - not that I would mind so much if those pine needle dropping pains fell (they come over our back fence and leave the needles in a layer on our already not great dirt just to have little mini trees pop up where we don't want them). They did stay standing and so did our little Cypress, but it seemed questionable at first. Also to my surprise our power didn't go out. I thought for sure it would as it seems to go out pretty often in this house. So as much as I had gotten a wild hare in me to pull up some of the weeds I keep thinking I need to get out and pull I was rushed inside to curl up and relax. I think Kris will be doing most to all of the yard stuff this year. He is in charge of the garden and any planting and weeding at this point. I just don't want to mess with doing anything new at this point and I am sure the bending and kneeling won't be something I am interested in this summer. I do have "suggestions" for him though. Kris has already decided he is going to just kill all of the grass and reseed. he fertilized and the good spots grew lush and green and the bad spots just became more apparent.
