I have already been a little uncomfortable in my Jeans, but today was the first day I really felt like my slacks were too tight, or very much getting there. No one else can tell anything, even people I know or who have known me wouldn't say I look pregnant or am popping out at all, but I can feel it and now my pants are proof - I am getting thicker. I might even break out the Belly Band tomorrow with my Friday jeans, we'll see how well it really does and keeping your pants up without them being clasped.
I am especially tired too. I'm not really sure why that seemed to go away a bit and now is back like it was to begin with, but I feel like I could go to bed right now. So just as I am really starting to feel like I am gaining weight and my natural response would be I need to cut back on eating or pick up the pace at the gym, I am too tired to care to move at all... oh well I guess this is only the beginning it is just odd for someone who has grown up in the era of fitness, healthclubs, and weight loss, to just gain weight like it is no big deal.
So now that I am 12 weeks the baby is changing too. The baby's eyes have moved to the front of its head and its ears are in place, hopefully they will be more like mine and not Kris' big dumbo ears (love ya babe). The chin and nose are also becoming more defined - hopefully it will have Kris' nose. This is kind of gross, albeit fascinating, so feel free to skip ahead if you aren't into all the weird and gory details, but our baby is able to swallow and apparently practices this on the amniotic fluid he or she floats in, yuck! Oh and in case you're wondering the baby breathes by getting oxygen from the blood pumped into their body by the placenta not with their lungs. The intestines are well under way now too, but not where you'd expect them to be. They aren't all inside the body cavity, some are dangling on the outside of the body in the umbilical cord... finally finger and toenails are forming this week too. The baby is about the length of your pinky finger and weighs almost ½ ounce.
Oh check out these picks of the nursery...
ha ha, made you think it was put together and cute didn't I? the walls are primed and ready for paint and the furniture is together and in there but nothing is in its place or decorated. I am waiting to find out the sex and figure out bedding (I'm hoping "someone" will sew crib bedding for me... I haven't asked yet). More updates will have to follow as we get it together. I also need to get a decent picture of me to post so you can see the progress, there really hasn't been anything to see so I haven't bothered much but we will need to start documenting my growth, I just need to take the pic at the start of the day not when I looked like I have been hit by a Mac truck.
