It's All There

We finally had our second appointment today. For whatever reason I have been very nervous about this appointment and just had some sense like something might be wrong, but thankfully that was all irrational thinking as I expected, so good news.  First we had an ultrasound and got to see the baby again.  It definitely looks more like a baby now and we could see two legs, two arms, head and heartbeat just as we should.  It was strange seeing that it was really there growing inside me and thinking it was really going to become a full grown baby that I would have in my arms in only a short 6ish months.

Next I headed to the lab for my blood draw.  I was pretty nervous about this because I haven't had to give blood ever that I can remember so I wasn't sure how it was done and I am not a fan on needles so it wasn't a pleasant thought, turned out it wasn't so bad.  They took like six vials of blood though, that was crazy.

The appointment itself was pretty quick, we listened to the heartbeat and just checked in on everything.  I go back in 4 more weeks and then the appointment after that is when we will be able to find out the sex... seems so far away and yet so soon too.

I have still been feeling really great.  I guess I have been super lucky to basically not have any of the morning sickness and headaches some people have.  I haven't really had any cravings except that I have really wanted a dang Costco chocolate muffin.  I don't know if it is a craving - maybe a chocolate craving - or if I just never eat those things because they are pretty fatty and so not good for you and I just have let a little of that go and said let me enjoy a muffin if I want a muffin...  I know I can't totally let it all go or I will be huge which I don't need, but one muffin can't be the worst.  So today I went to Costco and I got a package of muffins.  Here's the thing you have to buy two packages of six muffins.  I now have twelve not good for you muffins to eat.  Oh well one muffin down and eleven more to go.

Kris has been very busy helping his fraternity and hasn't been home a lot, but this weekend he had his initiation ceremony so should be home more again.  We went to our friends for Superbowl.  It is always fun to get together and see their little boys and visit.  I wasn't much into the game.  It is hard to get really excited about it when you don't really care either way who wins.  Also my girlfriend had her baby on Friday so I was able to go up this weekend and visit.  So little and adorable I can't wait to see ours.  I know Kris will be a great dad once he has his own.
