It Can Hear You

Our baby's ears are now facing forward and are completely formed so she or he can actually hear us talking now.  His or her sense of smell, taste, sight and hearing are all developing.  We need to watch our language I guess.

Its little bones are hardening now as well and the nerves are making more complex connections.  A substance called myelin, which makes nerve connections travel faster, is now coating our baby's nerves.
it also weighs between 5 and 7 ounces and is about 5½ inches long—about the size of a pickle from the corner deli.  Yum pickles.
Yesterday I spent most of the day with a friend and her almost two year old and her almost two month old.  While I am not ready and can't imagine having two youngsters it was so wonderful holding that sweet little baby so much, she is so happy and easy going too so that helps.  Playing with Violet is fun too, she is a ball of energy but can talk really well and is a little ham.  I had a really good time and even the stinky diapers didn't make me think twice.

Today I am working on a test batch of the cake ball cookies I am going to make to reveal the gender of our little one in a couple of weeks.  I found it on another blog and thought it seemed like a different and fun way to do it.  I am making a cake that will be blue or pink and making that into little cake balls (mashed up cake rolled into a ball shape, then you bake that inside a chocolate chip cookie so when you bite into the cookie it reveals the blue or pink inside... I hope they turn out and taste god, so far the batters are delish.

We are having a few friends over on the 8th to reveal the sex and I will serve these as dessert after everyone has had a chance to make their guess.  I'll post pics of how it all turns out as soon as I can reveal it online (after I tell fam and friends I want to surprise).
