It has been a pretty busy week again. I am feeling a lot more stress at work now as I need to create four training presentations and give them in the next five months. I have one mostly done and two well on the way, it is just hard to bring content all together. Once I am done with those I hope to start piecing them up and recording them to put out on the net. We need to have how-to's so there is no excuse of I don't know how to do it or I do it so rarely I forget. We love these kinds of excuses. Of course just as I will get going on that I will be out on maternity leave. I got called to Jury Duty this week too. Wednesday I went in and tried to do my civic duty. I filled out my paperwork and watched the catchy video about the importance of serving on a jury and then the judge came in to excuse us as the defendant did not show up and they would be issuing a warrant for his arrest. I guess it could have been a pretty interesting case to hear. Got my hair cut last night and then the big score...
I occasionally peruse craigslist for things we are thinking about getting or would like to have. I have been watching the posting for baby items and mostly looking for a good breast pump. My friends say a used one is fine with new tubes and pieces that the milk will actually touch and you can get those parts pretty inexpensively. So to save a little money I have been looking for the right deal. I found a posting for the brand and style I have been thinking about getting, but along with it came several other items I wasn't really looking to get. The thought crossed my mind to ask about just buying the one item, but as I looked at the list and the few pictures that were posted I realized it looked like some really good stuff for a really low price. Kris and I decided to check it out and went last night, we brought it all home.
Lets see what did we get...
A car seat with an extra car base and a stroller. Now we already bought a car seat and stroller, but we can return those if we decide these meet our needs - I have too look closer at them and how they compare (I do really like the ones we bought, so if we decide to keep those we can always sell or give these ones away.)
We got a swing, a jumperoo, and an activity mat. This mat has hard sides that can be removed so it can have the sides up or flat.
A bumbo chair with the tray attachment, a bottle warmer, the breast pump and a manual breast pump and glass bottles.
So we may not keep it all if it doesn't seem to fit our needs, but it all seemed really clean and in excellent shape, so if I can sanitize and maybe wash some of it I think it is a pretty good score. Kris is saying we won't have anything else to buy, but there will be plenty still with linens, diapering, feeding, washing, and the nursery. I am excited to feel like we actually have some baby stuff now and are really getting ready for a baby in our home. All-in-all I think I saved about $600 over buying this all new.
I on going task is the name game. It seems like every name we think of we already know someone who has that name or whose child has that name, or Kris and I don't agree about it. I am not sure how we will ever decide on the final pick. I guess once we know the sex it will be easier to narrow down the list.
