Our First Appointment

We had our first appointment today.  I had taken the day off so I could spend as long as I needed and not worry about getting back to the office and how long it might be taking.  I got there a little early and looked over my health history records while I waited.  We were brought back to the room and met the nurse, she seemed really friendly.  We went over some initial health questions and the basics then we met the doctor, who also seemed very friendly and it was finally time for the ultrasound.  After a quick checkup exam we finally got to see it.  I have to be honest it didn't really look like much, kind of just a blob, but it was really a baby.  A growing baby.  The heartbeat was very clear and there was only one.  It all looked healthy, the dates and size all agreed we were right on track and due August 23rd.  In fact this little baby isn't even a centimeter long yet.

 The really round spot is the sack and the more oblong blob is the baby.  Who knows which end is the head and which is the feet but that is it.  I guess they check the heartbeat is good but don't measure it at this point so they didn't give us the rate it was beating at.  My next appointment is in a little over 4 weeks and it will be a little more defined then.  I will have all sorts of lab tests at that appointment as well.  So more news then.
In the mean time I am feeling pretty good.  A little nausea but nothing to bad.  I am trying to eat well but nothing really sounds that good to me so I am doing my best.  Back to work tomorrow, now I am looking forward to telling the rest of my friends and the folks at work.
