7 Weeks and 3 days - Technically

I have been saying I am 8 weeks pregnant, I guess they really count once the week is complete, so I am really only 7 weeks and three days today...maybe I should count hours too, nah that would be too much.
So apparently a lot is happening inside of me even though I really don't feel much different.

This week my baby's brain is growing and fast.  Apparently it is something like 100 cells a minute and all within a see-through skull.  His or her eyes are wide open, but he doesn't have irises yet and the baby's face is also already becoming more defined. A tiny mouth hole, tongue, nostrils and ear indentations are visible, well on a magnified ultrasound... certainly not in the picture posted in the last blog entry. The Baby's arm and leg buds are growing, but look more like ping pong paddles at this point and the umbilical cord is now visible.  That we did see on the ultrasound.

Websites that talk about what is going on week by week compare the baby's size to the length of a Tic Tac and about as heavy as an eyelash. While that sounds tiny, he or she is approximately 10,000 times bigger than at conception. Crazy, huh?.
