Leaving My Baby

I left Conrad for the first time today, only for about an hour, but it was still a bit strange not having him with me.  My friend Tiffany watched him for me while I went to my six week check up.  Yep it is just over six weeks already.  I was worried that he would be fussy or cry the whole time and not give Tiff any sort of break and she has three of her own little ones to be mindful of so his need to be held a lot would not necessarily fly.  Of course he was perfect and just slept in the bouncy chair the whole time.  Of course we got to talking about the babies and in particular sleep or lack there of.  Tiff gave me some super cute things but one thing she gave me was a swaddle blanket and I decided to try it right away.  Worked really nicely, he slept another hour, ate and then slept some more.  Hope it helps tonight...

This past weekend besides going to the game I also got some carrots steamed for baby food.  Kris planted the garden this year and didn't realize how many carrots would actually take off so we had a ton that were ready to eat.  My girlfriend was down recently and when I mentioned them she said I should freeze them for baby food, duh, why hadn't I thought about that.  So we have several jars or pureed carrots in the freezer now.  This was the pile I had picked.  Kris helped peel them all I chopped them, steamed them, and blended away.

Friday I am headed north for home.  I will stay at my grandparents and then be home for a week until I headback.  Hopefully I can stop and see my old roommate from college and friend in Seattle as well.  While I am home I hope I can see all the family friends who have been in my life as long as I can remember.  I know the guys at my dads work will love to meet Conrad and some folks I used to babysit for, crazy to think their kids are in college and in relationships and grown up and now I have one of my own.
